Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Bruzzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Germano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Bruzzi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Germano!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruzzi wants to clinch.
Germano tries to clinch but Bruzzi moves away
enabling Bruzzi to counter with a crisp jab.
Bruzzi tries to bum rush Germano with a series of wild strikes but Germano uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Germano shoots in for a double leg but Bruzzi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bruzzi misses with a hook.
Bruzzi looks for a takedown but Germano sprawls well.
Germano avoids the body shot from Bruzzi.
Bruzzi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Bruzzi tries to clinch there but Germano circles away.
Bruzzi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Germano was well out of range. Poor timing from Bruzzi.
Bruzzi takes a swing at Germano's ribcage but misses.
Germano tries to clinch but Bruzzi is having none of it.

Germano scores a takedown into full mount!
Bruzzi tries to lock up and control but Germano gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Germano prevents Bruzzi from getting the reversal.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Germano is working for a guillotine from mount but Bruzzi frees his head quite easily.
Bruzzi is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Bruzzi is controlling an arm, preventing Germano from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Germano is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bruzzi is surviving well by controlling Germano's body position as best he can.
Bruzzi tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Bruzzi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Germano.

Germano looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Bruzzi wants to control but Germano is having none of it.
Bruzzi is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bruzzi sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Germano prevents Bruzzi from improving his position.

Bruzzi is defending against the submission attempts here by Germano.
Germano passes to full mount!
Bruzzi is in all sorts of trouble here.
Bruzzi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Germano has hold of Bruzzi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bruzzi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Germano jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bruzzi manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Germano tries to advance to mount but Bruzzi denies him.
Bruzzi manages to work his way to half guard, despite Germano's best efforts.
Germano wants to pass to mount but Bruzzi is defending the position.

Bruzzi kicks Germano off and gets back to his feet.
Germano fails with an attempt to clinch.
Germano shoots in and drives through. Bruzzi sprawls well.

Bruzzi clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bruzzi stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
A left hand lands to the body for Bruzzi.
Bruzzi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Germano manages to break the clinch.
Bruzzi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Germano manages to avoid it.
Bruzzi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bruzzi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bruzzi fails to land with a series of punches.
Germano shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bruzzi as he avoids it easily.
Felipe Bruzzi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Germano.
Bruzzi wants to clinch but Germano slips to the side

and Germano counters by clinching up.
Germano prevents Bruzzi from breaking the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bruzzi as Germano tries to tie him up.
Bruzzi has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bruzzi is trying to maintain a safe position but Germano gets an underhook and turns Bruzzi into the cage.
Bruzzi can't break the clinch.
Bruzzi prevents a takedown attempt there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Germano dominated that round.

Germano takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Felipe Bruzzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Germano tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bruzzi swivels and escapes.
Bruzzi lands a jab to the nose.
Bruzzi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Bruzzi throws a lazy right hand but Germano sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bruzzi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bruzzi clinches.
Germano is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bruzzi is defending well for now.
Germano jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bruzzi walks away with a smile on his face. Germano gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Bruzzi lands a jab to Germano's midsection.
Germano looks for a takedown but Bruzzi sprawls well.
Felipe Bruzzi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Germano.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Germano shoots in and bounces Bruzzi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bruzzi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Germano!

Bruzzi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Germano looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bruzzi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Bruzzi throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Germano is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bruzzi seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Germano for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felipe Bruzzi dominated that second round.
That's time! Bruzzi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Germano tries to clinch but Bruzzi moves out of range.
Bruzzi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Germano.
Germano keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bruzzi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bruzzi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Germano circles away quickly and effectively.
Germano plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Germano drops his hands momentarily and Bruzzi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bruzzi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Germano swivels and escapes.
Bruzzi takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Germano looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Germano is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bruzzi wants to improve his position but Germano is controlling well.
Bruzzi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bruzzi.

Bruzzi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Germano gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Germano tries to free his leg and advance position but Bruzzi is retaining full guard.

Germano thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Germano passes Bruzzi's left leg - he's now in half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Germano is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bruzzi is just riding it out for now. Germano eventually gives up the hold.
Bruzzi manages to get to full guard.
Bruzzi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bruzzi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Germano's guard.

Bruzzi wants to control from the top but Germano keeps moving.
Bruzzi is standing up over Germano. Germano looks to escape but Bruzzi dives into side control.
Bruzzi advances to full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bruzzi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Germano is looking to escape.
Germano is trying desperately to improve position.

Eric Germano comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Germano has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
