Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hannibal Lecter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Redman - Da goodness kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Frank Smith enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith tries to bum rush Lecter with a series of wild strikes but Lecter uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Smith throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Some bone on bone action there as Smith checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Smith tries to land a front kick but Lecter steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lecter sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lecter pushes Smith off and gets back to his feet.
Hannibal Lecter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lecter has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lecter and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
