Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Franco Canti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bocano Smithian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canti comes to the cage accompanied by L.A. DA BOOMMAN - DEY ON MY. Bocano Smithian told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Franco Canti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bocano Smithian! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Canti does no damage. Canti moves away from the strike by Smithian. Smithian avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smithian throws a combination that misses and Canti counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Canti swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Smithian counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Smithian. Smithian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Canti looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Smithian passes into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Canti can't escape the position.

Canti might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Canti has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smithian can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Canti is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Smithian pulls his head out easily. Smithian moves into full mount! Canti won't be happy about that! Canti tries to reverse the position but Smithian maintains control. Canti bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Canti stops Smithian from standing up. Canti drops back looking for a leg! Smithian is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smithian manages to kick Canti off! Canti jumps back into Smithian's guard. Canti looking to pass the guard. Canti is fighting to break Smithian's control of his arms but Smithian is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Canti pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smithian is keeping the position for now.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Canti misses with a double jab
and Smithian connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Bocano Smithian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Canti looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Smithian throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Bocano Smithian. I think Smithian has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
