PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker comes to the cage accompanied by Determinded. Balboa is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rocky Theme. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vincent Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rocky Balboa! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker shoots in and drives through. Balboa sprawls well. Balboa looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Balboa lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Good work by Walker as he checks the leg kick. Walker pushes Balboa up against the cage in a clinch. Balboa lands a body shot. Balboa manages to pull guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Walker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Balboa is trying to keep Walker in close.
Walker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Walker wants to pass the guard but Balboa is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Balboa manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Walker wants to try and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa controlling from mount. Balboa trying to control but he's not successful this time. Walker tries to hold on but Balboa postures up. Walker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Walker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Walker regains half guard. Balboa is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Walker is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Balboa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Walker tries to get to full guard but Balboa has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Walker gets back to full guard.
Walker wants to sweep here but Balboa controlling him for the moment. Balboa gets to his feet. Walker looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Walker is breathing heavily. Balboa tries to clinch but Walker moves away and Walker counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Walker is keen to just control but Balboa is a slippery customer. Walker prevents Balboa from improving his position. Walker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Walker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Balboa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Walker. Walker is keen to just control but Balboa is a slippery customer. Balboa is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balboa manages to escape and get back to his feet! Balboa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Balboa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Walker swivels and escapes. Vincent Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Balboa. Balboa clinches. Balboa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Balboa clinches up against the cage. Walker could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Balboa is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Walker is keeping busy. Walker jumps guard.
Balboa tries to stand but Walker is controlling from the bottom. Balboa preventing the sweep. Walker is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walker pushes a forearm under Balboa's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Balboa is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Vincent Walker!
