Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Perat Horvat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karri Kemppainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Perat Horvat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Karri Kemppainen!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kemppainen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Horvat's half guard.
Kemppainen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Horvat is looking to control Kemppainen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Horvat avoid being mounted?

Horvat on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Horvat tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Horvat feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Horvat distracts Kemppainen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Horvat throws and elbow that misses. Kemppainen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Horvat's guard. Nice move by Kemppainen!
Kemppainen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Horvat swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kemppainen prevents Horvat from getting back to his feet.
Horvat is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kemppainen tries to free his leg and advance position but Horvat is retaining full guard.
Horvat has momentary wrist control but Kemppainen slips an elbow through the middle.
Kemppainen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kemppainen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Horvat swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Horvat looks to land a right hand but Kemppainen moved out of range.

Kemppainen lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kemppainen is on top in guard.
Kemppainen keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Horvat's head.
Horvat tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Kemppainen looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Horvat is looking to stand up but Kemppainen isn't so interested in that idea.
Kemppainen trying to control but Horvat is working from the bottom.
Kemppainen sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Kemppainen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

A close round but Karri Kemppainen will probably get the nod.

Kemppainen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Perat Horvat has been cut.
Karri Kemppainen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kemppainen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Horvat takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Kemppainen moves out of range of the strikes.
Kemppainen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Karri Kemppainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kemppainen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Horvat swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kemppainen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Horvat works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Horvat knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kemppainen on the ground.
Kemppainen passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kemppainen creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Kemppainen working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Kemppainen decides to stand back up.

Kemppainen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kemppainen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kemppainen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Horvat can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Kemppainen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Horvat is now in Kemppainen's guard. A big mistake from Kemppainen there, giving up the dominant position!

Kemppainen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kemppainen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kemppainen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Kemppainen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Horvat manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Horvat is looking for a sweep.

Kemppainen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Horvat knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Horvat wants to get back to his feet but Kemppainen is dominant here and he's now got Horvat's back!

Kemppainen really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Horvat.
Kemppainen lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Kemppainen.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Karri Kemppainen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kemppainen lands a jab-cross combination.
Horvat has his takedown stuffed
and Kemppainen counters with a three punch combo that has Horvat backing up. Horvat nods at Kemppainen to acknowledge the strikes.
Horvat throws a big shot that misses.
Kemppainen cracks Horvat with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Horvat throws a body punch but Kemppainen moves out of range.

and Kemppainen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Horvat's guard.

Kemppainen lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Horvat might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Horvat keeping moving, preventing Kemppainen from controlling successfully.
Horvat can't keep his opponent in guard - Kemppainen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Kemppainen is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Horvat has managed to free his arm - good work.
Horvat wants to get back to his feet.
Horvat tries to roll over but Kemppainen keeps him under control.

Kemppainen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Karri Kemppainen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kemppainen is taking a breather. Horvat says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kemppainen has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Horvat is squirming around, avoiding Kemppainen's attempts to control the action.
Perat Horvat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kemppainen cracks Horvat with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

And that's the end of the fight!
Karri Kemppainen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kemppainen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
