The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Piper's waist but Piper gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lesnar off to one side.
Lesnar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Piper is trying to control but can't.
Piper looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Piper is pressing down on Lesnar's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Piper looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Lesnar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Piper has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lesnar has managed to get both his arms back between Piper's legs - danger averted.
Lesnar tries to free his leg and advance position but Piper is retaining full guard.
Lesnar throwing strikes from guard but Piper blocks nicely.
Piper has a closed guard, preventing Lesnar from standing up.
Piper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lesnar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Piper is tightening it up a little... Lesnar has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lesnar reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lesnar taps out! nice BJJ there by Piper!
