Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Boyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junior Turner! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Boyer wants to clinch up but Turner keeps it at a distance. Turner closes the distance and clinches up with Boyer, looking for a takedown. Turner pushes Boyer against the cage but Boyer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Boyer misses with a series of wild punches.
Boyer moves in looking to clinch but Turner pushes him off. Turner is looking to clinch but Boyer is avoiding it.
Boyer misses with a wild combination.
Turner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boyer paws at him with a jab and circles away. Boyer wants to clinch but Turner slips to the side and Turner counters with a takedown into side control. Turner working away. Boyer defending against the ground and pound. Turner misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Turner creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boyer wants to control but Turner postures up. Boyer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Boyer tries to get out of the position. Turner tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Turner is trying to ground and pound but Boyer uses the momentary lack of control by Turner to regain half guard. Turner wants to advance to full mount but Boyer doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Turner looks gassed! Turner throwing strikes from guard but Boyer blocks nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Boyer has control of Turner's left arm, preventing Turner from doing any damage. Boyer looking for a sweep. Not yet Boyer, not yet. Turner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boyer works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Turner postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Turner being controlled here momentarily. Boyer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Turner.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Turner tries for a takedown but Boyer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Billy Boyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boyer lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Turner can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Boyer and Turner drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Boyer.
