Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Griffen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffen's entrance music is Ride the Lightning. A fine choice. Dan Pierre has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Griffen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan Pierre! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierre slaps away a takedown attempt from Griffen, before circling back to the center of the mat. Pierre gets a clinch. Griffen missing with knees to the body.
Pierre has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Griffen uses from the top position. Pierre kicks Griffen off and gets to his feet. Pierre looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Pierre lands a slapping body shot.
Griffen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Griffen shoots for a takedown but Pierre saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Pierre throws a big shot that misses. A head kick misses from Pierre. Griffen takes a shot right to the bread basket. Griffen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pierre but Pierre pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Griffen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Griffen looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Pierre has control of Griffen's left arm, preventing Griffen from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre looking to hit a scissor sweep but Griffen is one step ahead there. Pierre keeping moving, preventing Griffen from controlling successfully. Griffen connects with a couple of short punches. Pierre pushes Griffen off and scrambles back to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from Pierre as Griffen shoots in. Griffen is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Donk. Pierre catches Griffen right on the button with a cross. Pierre tries to clinch there but Griffen circles away.
Pierre displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Griffen. Griffen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pierre's waist but Pierre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griffen off to one side. Some wild striking there from Pierre.
Dan Pierre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pierre shoots in and bounces Griffen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Pierre working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pierre must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre controls from within his opponent's guard. Pierre postures up.
Pierre wants to stand but Griffen is controlling his posture from full guard. Pierre throws and elbow that misses. Griffen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pierre's guard. Nice move by Griffen!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Pierre wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Griffen wants to control from the top but Pierre keeps moving. Griffen slips nicely into half guard. Griffen prevents Pierre from improving his position. Pierre is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Pierre dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Pierre misses with a two punch combination.
Peter Griffen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Griffen with a lazy takedown attempt and Pierre counters with a two punch combo. Pierre darts in and clinches Griffen up against the cage. Pierre is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Griffen is keeping busy. A short right hand to the side of the head by Pierre. Griffen wants a takedown.
Griffen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pierre is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Griffen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pierre wants the takedown. Griffen is fighting it off but Pierre persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Griffen's guard against the cage. Griffen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pierre is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre looking to pass the guard. Griffen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pierre controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pierre wants to control from the top but Griffen keeps moving. Griffen wants to sweep but no luck. Griffen working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre stays in close to Griffen's body and controls the position. Pierre gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Pierre scores with a jab to the jaw. Griffen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pierre lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pierre, as that shot connected.
Pierre uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Griffen has time to react. Pierre swinging wilding here.
Griffen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Griffen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pierre. Pierre slaps away a takedown attempt from Griffen, before circling back to the center of the mat. Griffen avoids the head kick by Pierre.
Pierre misses with a looping left. Griffen tries for a takedown but Pierre circles away easily enabling Pierre to counter with a crisp jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Pierre shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Griffen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Pierre trying to control but Griffen is working from the bottom. Griffen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Griffen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Griffen pulls Pierre in to control the position. Griffen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Pierre is trying to get back to full guard. Griffen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pierre keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Griffen working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Pierre's thigh. Pierre counters though and makes it back to full guard. Pierre has control of Griffen's left arm, preventing Griffen from doing any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pierre can do anything to dispel that myth. Pierre tries to land a sweep but no joy. Griffen tries to free his leg and advance position but Pierre is retaining full guard. Pierre has control of Griffen's left arm, preventing Griffen from doing any damage. Griffen with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffen trying to control but Pierre is working from the bottom. Griffen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Griffenis looking to pass into half guard but Pierre pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Pierre is in guard. Pierre trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Pierre!
Griffen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pierre counters with a three punch combo that has Griffen backing up. Griffen nods at Pierre to acknowledge the strikes. Pierre avoids the head kick by Griffen.
Pierre shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pierre showed some decent athleticism there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griffen wants to improve his position but Pierre is controlling well.
Pierre controlling the pace. Griffen is looking to control Pierre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Griffen avoid being mounted? Peter Griffen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dan Pierre is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pierre stalling.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Pierre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
