PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tybalt Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Rabadi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Stop. Alan Rabadi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tybalt Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alan Rabadi!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rabadi lands a left and a right that sends Jones crashing to the canvas! Rabadi dives into mount looking to finish!


It looks like Tybalt Jones has been cut.
Rabadi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rabadi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.
Jones tries to hold on but Rabadi postures up.
Jones wants to try and get back to his feet.
Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position.
Jones tries to improve his position but instead Rabadi has taken his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Rabadi trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Rabadi is looking for the choke from the back position but Jones is controlling his hands well.
Jones looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Rabadi looking to break Jones's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jones remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Rabadi will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Rabadi is trying to control but Jones is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Rabadi trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones is trying desperately to improve position.
Jones is squirming around, avoiding Rabadi's attempts to control the action.
Jones holds on, trying desperately to control.
Rabadi unloads with some shots from mount but Jones bucks and avoids them well.

Jones wants to hold on but Rabadi pushes him away.
Rabadi working the ground and pound effectively.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rabadi trying to control but Jones is having none of it.
Rabadi thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.

Rabadi has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Jones.

Rabadi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rabadi throws a nice head kick!
Rabadi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rabadi tries a head kick but it misses.

Jones takes the fight into the clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rabadi looks to land a combination. Jones sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Rabadi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jones moves into the clinch.
Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones tries to land knees in the clinch but Rabadi avoids the damage to the body.

Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rabadi fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tybalt Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rabadi. That's going to slow Jones down.
Rabadi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rabadi tries a head kick but it misses.

Rabadi throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rabadi is pressing down on Jones's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jones's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Rabadi has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Jones throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Rabadi trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rabadi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rabadi is one step ahead there.

Rabadi wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rabadi pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jones working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Rabadi's thigh. Rabadi counters though and makes it back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Rabadi is retaining full guard.
Rabadi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Rabadi has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Rabadi stands up out of Jones's guard for a moment - Jones manages to land a nice upkick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tybalt Jones will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Rabadi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
Rabadi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Alan Rabadi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones pushes Rabadi up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones keeps control of Rabadi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Jones with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Jones's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Jones decides to pull guard.
Rabadi trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rabadi postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Rabadi from controlling successfully.
Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jones is just content to waste time from the top position. Rabadi takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rabadi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rabadi passes to side control.
Jones isn't going anywhere.
Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jones trying to control but Rabadi postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones wants to improve his position but Rabadi is controlling well.
Rabadi wants to stand but Jones has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Jones is looking to improve his position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jones moves into full guard.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Rabadi from controlling successfully.
Rabadi wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jones throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jones controls Rabadi momentarily but Rabadi frees himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tybalt Jones showed his dominance in that final round.
