Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gilles Voet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vorg Zangief (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gilles Voet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vorg Zangief! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Voet defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zangief. Voet with a lazy takedown attempt and Zangief counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Zangief throwing shots but Voet is blocking nicely. Voet has a hand on Zangief's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Zangief takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Zangief is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Voet scores with the left hand. Zangief knows he should have avoided that one. Voet changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zangief looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Voet wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Zangief, who protects the arm well. You can see the frustration on Zangief's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Zangief has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Voet stands up and beckons Zangief to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zangief tries to clinch there but Voet circles away.
Zangief fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Voet avoids it really well and circles away. Voet avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Zangief wants to clinch. Voet scores with a takedown into Zangief's guard. Voet being controlled here momentarily. Zangief is trying to keep Voet in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zangief wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Voet is now in half guard. Zangief has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Voet is working away from the top position though. Voet is looking to take a break and control but Zangief is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Zangief trying to hold on to Voet's head to control him but Voet postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Voet throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Voet not doing much here.

Zangief looks gassed!
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Zangief gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Voet to score an easy takedown into full guard. Voet prevents Zangief from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zangief can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Voet controls the pace. Zangief has Voet pulled in close to control his posture. Voet postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Zangief is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Voet, into his guard. Zangief controls from within his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gilles Voet will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Voet misses with a takedown and Zangief counters with a single leg into guard. Voet didn't expect that. Zangief works a leg free and moves into half guard. Voet trying to control here.
Zangief is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Voet reverses the position - he's now on top in Zangief's guard. Zangief looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Voet trying to control the position from guard on top but Zangief is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zangief manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Voet manages to get himself to full guard.

Zangief gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Zangief ducks right into an uppercut from Voet. Voet shoots in for a takedown but Zangief shows good takedown defense. Voet throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Zangief counters with a lovely shot to the body. Zangief throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zangief pushes Voet up against the cage in a clinch. Zangief tries to pull guard but Voet won't allow it.
Voet pulls guard effortlessly. Voet wants to sweep but no luck. Zangief stands up and waves to Voet to follow him. Voet circles away from the clinch attempt.
Zangief motions for Voet to come forward. Zangief throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Gilles Voet is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Voet digs a good body shot into Zangief's ribs. Voet throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zangief was covering up waiting for the punch and Voet finishes the takedown easily into guard. Voet trying to control the position from guard on top but Zangief is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zangief wants to get back to his feet but Voet is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Voet trying to control the position from guard on top but Zangief is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zangief looking for a sweep. Not yet Zangief, not yet. Voet pushes down on Zangief's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Voet is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Voet is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Zangief reverses the position - he's now on top in Voet's guard. Zangief is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zangief trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vorg Zangief showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Voet throws a nice looking combination but Zangief bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Voet closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Voet wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zangief keeps working. Zangief tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Voet wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Zangief manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Voet is trying to control but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round. Zangief prevents Voet from improving his position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Zangief has closed the distance and engaged Voet in a clinch.
Voet on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Voet fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Voet can't get the takedown.

Voet breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Zangief wants to clinch up but Voet keeps it at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Voet pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Voet keeps the fight on the outside. Zangief takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Zangief gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Voet to score an easy takedown into full guard. Zangief wants to sweep here but Voet controlling him for the moment. Voet controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zangief is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gilles Voet overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Voet postures up.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Voet moves into full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Vorg Zangief. I think Zangief has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
