The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
kimura shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. kimura showed some decent athleticism there.
kimura is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dela Cruz sees it coming and defends easily.
Dela Cruz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for kimura on the ground.
kimura wants to control but Dela Cruz is keeping him busy.
kimura is looking for a kimura but Dela Cruz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for kimura to get the leverage.
kimura looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dela Cruz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

kimura walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dela Cruz checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Dela Cruz closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks kimura out cold! kimura corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
