The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gomi scores with a one two! Jackson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Takanori Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gomi is refusing to be controlled, as Jackson sits in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gomi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jackson wants to control but Gomi is keeping him busy.
Jackson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Gomi defend it? Jackson steps over the head and cranks it - Gomi is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jackson!
