Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Collin Barnaby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kerry Sibley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kerry Sibley!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sibley circles away from the clinch attempt.

Sibley wants the takedown. Barnaby is fighting it off but Sibley persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Barnaby's guard against the cage.

Barnaby stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Sibley to get to his feet.
Sibley shoots in looking for a takedown. Barnaby tries to sprawl out of it but Sibley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barnaby manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sibley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barnaby as he avoids it easily.

Barnaby throws a front kick that sends Sibley stumbling back into the cage.

Barnaby escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Sibley counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Barnaby clinches up with Sibley and pushes him back against the cage.

Barnaby is trying to trip Sibley. He has hold of a leg but Sibley is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Barnaby persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barnaby accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sibley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barnaby gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's time! Barnaby's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Sibley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sibley lands in his opponent's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Barnaby is staying active underneath Sibley, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sibley takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Sibley is working for a kimura but Barnaby is defending it quite comfortably.
Sibley lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Sibley fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Sibley has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Barnaby clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Sibley had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Barnaby is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sibley Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Barnaby's back instead.

Sibley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barnaby doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barnaby manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kerry Sibley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sibley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
