PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Dash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Bokaccio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dash is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Dash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Bokaccio!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bokaccio tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dash sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bokaccio somewhat.
Dash is breathing heavily.
Bokaccio lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Dash sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Dash takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Bokaccio gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dash prevents the takedown attempt.
Bokaccio tries for a takedown but Dash manages to get underhooks.
Tony Dash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Bokaccio.

Bokaccio manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bokaccio is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dash on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dash tries to get out of the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Mark Bokaccio just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bokaccio throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dash was covering up waiting for the punch and Bokaccio finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dash keeping moving, preventing Bokaccio from controlling successfully.
Bokaccio is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dash knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bokaccio on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bokaccio decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Bokaccio has a takedown stuffed.
Bokaccio lands a head kick. Dash smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Bokaccio plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Bokaccio clinches.

Bokaccio breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bokaccio drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dash keeping moving, preventing Bokaccio from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Dash's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Bokaccio moves into the clinch.

Bokaccio is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dash can't fight it off and eventually Bokaccio manages to take the fight to the floor. Dash looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bokaccio wants to control from the top but Dash keeps moving.
Bokaccio pushes down on Dash's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bokaccio is looking to take a break and control but Dash is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bokaccio lands strikes from half guard.
Bokaccio throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bokaccio is trying to control. Dash wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bokaccio decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Bokaccio lands with a kick to the temple. Dash shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Tony Dash has been cut.
Bokaccio changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dash tries to avoid it but Bokaccio manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dash to the ground. Dash escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bokaccio takes the fight into the clinch.

Bokaccio is trying to trip Dash. He has hold of a leg but Dash is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Bokaccio persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Bokaccio gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Bokaccio breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tony Dash is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bokaccio staying out of range there.
Mark Bokaccio is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bokaccio forces Dash back against the cage and clinches.

Bokaccio's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dash throws out a loose jab but Bokaccio uses good head movement to avoid it.
The fighters circling - Dash throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Bokaccio has managed to clinch.

Bokaccio jumps guard and drags Dash to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Dash wants to stand and escape but instead Bokaccio has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Bokaccio wants to control from the top but Dash keeps moving.
Bokaccio trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dash's guard.

Dash wants to stand up but Bokaccio is controlling him.
Dash is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Bokaccio dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Bokaccio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Bokaccio throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dash because Bokaccio loaded up on that one.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bokaccio looking to control but Dash is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Bokaccio lands a nice shot to the head.
Bokaccio throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Bokaccio is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Dash is forced to tap! Great finish!
