Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Heller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Porter! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heller scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Heller with the ground and pound but Porter regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Heller prevents Porter from improving his position. Heller is looking for a kimura but Porter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Heller to get the leverage. Heller working over Porter with some ground and pound. Porter looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Heller throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Porter is trying to get back to full guard. Heller throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Porter is defending against the submission attempts here by Heller.
Porter wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heller seems to be looking for submissions.
Heller thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Porter trying to control but Heller postures up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Porter throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Porter lands with a kick to the temple. Heller shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Heller cracks Porter with a good jab. Porter goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Heller avoids the head kick by Porter.
Porter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Heller is breathing heavily. Heller chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Porter can pounce on him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Porter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Heller. Porter fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Porter tries a head kick but it misses.

A punch combination from Heller misses. Heller scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Porter throws a head kick that Heller semi-blocks.

Heller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Heller is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Heller throwing shots but Porter is blocking nicely. Heller wants to lay and pray for a moment but Porter keeps working. Heller scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Porter is trying to stand up here but Heller is controlling him well. Porter trying to control but Heller postures up.

Porter lands with a nice combination. Heller backs away looking to recover. Porter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nice body kick from Porter. Porter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Heller closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Heller is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Porter has managed to free his arm - good work. Heller not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heller performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Porter wants to control but Heller is keeping busy and won't allow it. Heller is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Porter doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Heller. Porter is refusing to be controlled, as Heller sits in half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Porter dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Heller fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Porter throws out a loose jab but Heller uses good head movement to avoid it. Porter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Heller counters with a left to the body. A punch combination from Heller misses. Left hook, right uppercut from Heller. Nice sprawl there from Porter as Heller shoots in. Porter scores with a body shot.
Porter lands a head kick. Heller smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Joe Heller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Porter takes a shot right to the bread basket. Heller fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Heller. That's going to take a lot out of him. Porter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Porter stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Porter throws a sloppy head kick and Heller moves out of range easily. Porter misses with a looping left. Daniel Porter seems to be getting the better of the standup. Porter scoring well with a low kick there.
Heller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Porter.
Porter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Heller looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heller is stalling here. Porter is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Heller seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Porter has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Heller struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Porter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Heller keeps working. Heller is looking to reverse the position. Heller throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Heller tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Porter presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Heller tries to reverse the position but Porter maintains control. Heller is working hard here to advance position. Heller regains half guard. Heller moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Heller lands a decent punch to the body there. Heller kicks Porter off and gets to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heller looks to land a left hand but Porter moved out of range nicely. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Porter lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Heller has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Heller and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Heller fails with the takedown. Heller misses with a wild combination.
Heller throws a nice looking combination but Porter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Heller throws a sloppy head kick and Porter moves out of range easily. Heller has Porter up against the cage in a clinch.

Porter won't allow Heller to sweep him here. Heller working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Porter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Porter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Porter wants to control from the top but Heller keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Porter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Porter trying to control the position from guard on top but Heller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Heller kicks Porter off and gets to his feet. Heller throws a sloppy head kick and Porter moves out of range easily. Porter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Joe Heller dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Porter lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. A punch combination from Heller misses. Heller swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Porter counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Heller is lucky that one didn't land flush. Heller throws a right and a left that Porter avoids nicely. Heller misses with a wild combination.
Heller shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Porter's guard. Porter can't keep his opponent in guard - Heller advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Heller wants to pass the guard but Porter is defending well. Joe Heller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Well, if Heller is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Porter has hold of Heller's hands but Heller slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Heller looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Heller is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Porter defends it well. Heller takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Heller is looking to advance position but Porter won't allow it. Heller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Porter wants to control but Heller is keeping busy.
Heller winds up and cracks Porter with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heller takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Porter is staying active underneath Heller, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Porter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Heller moves nicely into side control. Heller landing a few strikes. Porter is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Heller has just dragged him back down to the mat. Porter tries to improve position but can't. Porter manages to get back to half guard.

Heller won't allow Porter to get back to his feet. Porter lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Heller! Porter wants to control the pace but Heller is squirming around nicely. Heller working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Porter wants to control the pace but Heller is squirming around nicely. Porter avoids the attempt from Heller to control. Heller is looking to get to half guard. Porter is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Heller can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Heller is squirming around, avoiding Porter's attempts to control the action.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Heller showed his dominance in that final round. I think Heller has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
