Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Marak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marak has chosen Templars of Steele - Hammer Fall as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Gunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Marak! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marak darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gunn wants to improve his position but Marak is controlling well.
Marak working the head and body with strikes. Marak lands strikes from half guard. Marak prevents Gunn from improving his position. Gunn moves into full guard.
Gunn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marak is aware though and is defending well. Marak advances position into side control! Marak is putting a hurting on Gunn here, landing some big shots from side control. Marak trying to control the action but Gunn is working from the bottom. Marak lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Gunn is trying to get back to half guard. Marak wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gunn, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marak is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gunn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Marak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gunn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Marak looks gassed! Gunn sneaks back into half guard. Marak is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gunn sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gunn is looking to improve his position.
Marak is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gunn defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gunn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Gunn manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gunn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gunn keeping moving, preventing Marak from controlling successfully. Gunn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Gunn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marak is one step ahead there. Gunn had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Marak is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gunn Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Marak's back instead. Marak manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gunn's guard. Nice work there by Marak.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunn tries to land a sweep but no joy. Marak thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gunn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marak is aware though and is defending well. Gunn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marak on the ground. Gunn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Marak trying to control but Gunn is working from the bottom. Gunn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gunn working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Marak has passed into half guard!

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Marak lands strikes from half guard. Gunn looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gunn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Marak's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Marak's back! Marak preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Gunn. Gunn is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gunn tightening his grip on Marak, looking for the choke. Gunn is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Marak is defending well though. Gunn let's go of the attempt for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Marak dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gunn has closed the distance and engaged Marak in a clinch.
Marak is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gunn is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Marak to the mat. Marak regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Marak striking from his own guard. Gunn stopping the sweep attempt from Marak. Gunn looking to pass the guard. Marak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gunn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Gunn drops back looking for a leg! Marak is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Marak manages to kick Gunn off! Gunn jumps back into Marak's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gunn preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gunn working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Gunn has control of an arm but Marak manages to advance to Gunn's back! Marak looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Gunn can't escape the position.
Well, with Marak on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Gunn is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Gunn is trying to defend against the choke here but Marak has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Marak Tightens the hold and Gunn taps out furiously! Marak displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Max Marak!
