The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

lagermo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

McFist drops back looking for a leg! lagermo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and lagermo manages to kick McFist off! McFist jumps back into lagermo's guard.
McFist stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. lagermo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
lagermo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McFist is controlling him.

McFist drops back looking for a leg! lagermo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and lagermo manages to kick McFist off! McFist jumps back into lagermo's guard.

McFist stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. lagermo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McFist drops back, looking for a kneebar! lagermo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. lagermo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from lagermo!
McFist is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on lagermo's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

McFist is breathing heavily.
McFist is refusing to be controlled, as lagermo sits in half guard.
McFist is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

lagermo decides to stand up.
lagermo thuds his right hand into McFist's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
lagermo misses with an attempted mid kick.
McFist on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

lagermo looks to land a body kick but McFist moved away.
McFist sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from lagermo lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McFist has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McFist and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

McFist changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. lagermo tries to avoid it but McFist manages to keep hold of a leg and drag lagermo to the ground. lagermo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

martin lagermo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark McFist.
I think lagermo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
