The bell rings for round one and we are underway! thai decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. thai is looking to take a break and control but Waffle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. thai content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. That's one minute gone in the round. thai works his foot free and advances to mount. Waffle is squirming around, avoiding thai's attempts to control the action. Lucky escape for Waffle because thai loaded up on that one. thai wants to control the pace but Waffle is squirming around nicely. Waffle wants to hold on but thai pushes him away. BOOM! thai connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Waffle is looking to get to half guard. Waffle tries to lock up and control but thai gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. thai is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Waffle can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Waffle is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. thai looking to control but Waffle is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. thai in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Waffle tries to hold on but thai postures up. thai with the ground and pound from mount. thai controlling the position easily from mount. thai avoids the attempt from Waffle to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
lumpini thai dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
thai shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Waffle manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Waffle keeping moving, preventing thai from controlling successfully. thai stands and steps away. Waffle gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. thai looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Waffle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with thai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Waffle is looking for a triangle here but thai uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. thai sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, thai cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Waffle wants to control but thai is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. thai wants to control the action but instead Waffle gets a body lock and reverses into thai's guard! Nice work! Waffle is looking to stand up but thai won't let him. thai is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Still in half guard, thai seems content to control. thai is looking to take a break and control but Waffle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Waffle trying to get back to full guard but thai takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Waffle misses with a takedown attempt and thai counters with a shoot takedown. Waffle fights it but they end up in guard. thai looking to sit in guard and control but Waffle gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Waffle throws a big right hand that misses. thai not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

And that's the end of the fight! lumpini thai showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for thai, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
