Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hakokoth Saruen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Arellanes! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saruen fails in his attempt to clinch. Saruen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Arellanes moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Arellanes stuffs the takedown. Arellanes connects with a right hand. Saruen shakes it off. The fight stays on the outside here - Saruen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Saruen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Arellanes's waist but Arellanes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Saruen off to one side. Saruen doesn't manage to clinch there - Arellanes circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Saruen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Saruen throws a left and a right that both miss
and Arellanes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Saruen misses with a double jab
and Arellanes counters with a lovely straight right hand! Saruen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hakokoth Saruen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A left and a right from Arellanes both land. Nice combination. Saruen moves in looking to clinch but Arellanes pushes him off. Arellanes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Saruen. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hakokoth Saruen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Arellanes throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Saruen is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Arellanes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Saruen as he jumps to the side. Arellanes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Saruen wants to clinch. Arellanes throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Saruen misses with the combination.
Saruen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Arellanes finds it's way round the side to connect with Saruen's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arellanes scores with a sloppy right hand. Saruen should have avoided that one. Saruen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Saruen is rocked! Saruen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A left and a right from Saruen both land. Nice combination. Decent striking displayed by Arellanes there. Left hook, right uppercut from Arellanes. Oh Saruen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Arellanes walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Saruen drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Arellanes swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Saruen's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
