Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Reese Hiller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dougie Ferguson! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hiller shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ferguson but Ferguson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ferguson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ferguson throws a head kick but Hiller moves out of range.
Ferguson tries to clinch up and Hiller counters by moving into the clinch. Hiller is working for takedown but Ferguson is calmly controlling the position for now. Hiller wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ferguson landing knees to the head.
It looks like Reese Hiller has been cut. Hiller goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ferguson prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reese Hiller. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ferguson throws an elbow but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hiller has Ferguson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ferguson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Ferguson misses with a knee to the head. Ferguson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hiller's efforts to push away. Hiller can't get the takedown.
Hiller tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ferguson just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferguson misses with an elbow strike.
Ferguson lands an elbow inside. Ferguson avoiding damage as Hiller throws knees to the body.
Hiller is trying to break the clinch but Ferguson has him pressed against the cage. Ferguson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Hiller jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ferguson walks away with a smile on his face. Hiller gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Ferguson closes the distance and lands a one-two. Dougie Ferguson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hiller pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ferguson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ferguson lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Hiller tries to pull guard but Ferguson won't allow it.
Hiller can't break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hiller drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hiller wants a takedown but no success here.
A short body shot lands from Hiller as the two fighters clinch.
Hiller really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ferguson lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Hiller has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ferguson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hiller is breathing heavily. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Ferguson with a knee to the head.
Reese Hiller's cut is getting worse. Hiller misses with an elbow over the top. Hiller tries to pull guard but Ferguson won't allow it.
Ferguson connects with a knee to the head.
Hiller is rocked! Ferguson has Hiller pressed against the cage. He pushes Hiller back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Ferguson throws a beautiful elbow that sends Hiller crashing to the floor! Ferguson piles on the pressure with more strikes! Hiller is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dougie Ferguson!
