PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raoul Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raoul Duke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duke circles away from the clinch attempt.
Duke has a takedown stuffed.
Wallace fails with an attempt to clinch.
Duke throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Duke misses with a takedown attempt - Wallace sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wallace doesn't manage to clinch there - Duke circles away.
Wallace moves in looking to clinch but Duke pushes him off.
Duke shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wallace defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raoul Duke. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Duke shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wallace's guard.

Duke drops back looking for a leg! Wallace is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wallace manages to kick Duke off! Duke jumps back into Wallace's guard.
Duke wants to pass the guard but Wallace is keeping the position.
Duke advances to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wallace wants to improve his position but Duke is controlling well.

Duke is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wallace doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Duke.

Duke frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Duke is going olschool here, as he tries to force Wallace to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Wallace shrugs it off.

Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wallace is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duke has control of Wallace's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wallace regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Duke is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wallace can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Duke is working for a guillotine from mount but Wallace frees his head quite easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Duke is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wallace can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Duke looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Duke won't let Wallace get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Duke is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wallace has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wallace!
Duke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wallace lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Duke misses with a takedown attempt - Wallace sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Duke drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Duke jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Duke postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wallace is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Duke, into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Wallace thows a body kick. Duke tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Wallace turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Duke shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wallace as he avoids it easily.
Wallace lands a glancing blow to the side of Duke's head.

Wallace tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tim Wallace is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wallace dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Duke shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Wallace tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Wallace is looking for a sweep. Duke is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Wallace is looking to regain half guard here but Duke keeps moving and retains side control.

Duke wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wallace, who protects the arm well.

Duke goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wallace rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Duke's guard! Nice work there by Wallace!
Wallace wanted to stand there but Duke had control of the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wallace trying to control but Duke is working from the bottom.

Duke has his foot on Wallace's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wallace works his way back into a safe position though.
Wallace pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Duke is keeping the position for now.
Wallace has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Duke is proving hard to escape from.

Duke has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Wallace should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Duke has tightened it up now! Wallace should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
