Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Capello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caios Ruass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ruass's choice of entrance music: stronger. Caios Ruass is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabio Capello! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caios Ruass! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Capello shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Capello showed some decent athleticism there. Ruass is looking for a sweep. Capello is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Capello tries to stand and escape but Ruass is controlling the position. Ruass is trying to stand back up but Capello is controlling him
Ruass has one foot on Capello's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Ruass misses with a takedown and Capello counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ruass is staying active underneath Capello, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ruass trying to control but Capello postures up.
Capello tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ruass controls his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Capello works his foot free and advances to mount. Capello get's back to his feet. Ruass misses with a two punch combination.
Ruass ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Capello moves away. Ruass scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Capello keeping hold of Ruass's head, controlling as best he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Capello trying to hold on to Ruass's head to control him but Ruass postures up.
Capello is breathing heavily. Capello wants to improve his position but Ruass is controlling well.
Capello moves into full guard.
Ruass controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Capello looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruass won't allow Capello to sweep him here. Ruass is fighting to break Capello's control of his arms but Capello is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Ruass throwing strikes from guard but Capello blocks nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ruass drops back looking for a leg! Capello is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Capello manages to kick Ruass off! Ruass jumps back into Capello's guard. Ruass would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Capello has his hands on Ruass's head, controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fabio Capello dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Capello looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ruass! Capello is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Capello closes the distance and clinches up with Ruass, looking for a takedown. Capello pushes Ruass against the cage but Ruass circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ruass moves in looking to clinch but Capello pushes him off. Capello with a lazy takedown attempt and Ruass counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Capello tries to roll over but Ruass keeps him under control. Capello is trying to stand up here but Ruass is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruass seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Capello trying to control here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Capello is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Capello is refusing to be controlled, as Ruass sits in half guard. Capello wants to improve his position but Ruass is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Capello makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Capello. Capello is trying to keep Ruass in close.
Capello pulls Ruass in close to prevent any damage. Ruass must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Fabio Capello just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Ruass fails with the takedown and Capello counters with a takedown into side control. Capello wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ruass keeps working. Capello is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ruass is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Capello has hold of Ruass's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ruass tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Capello cranks the arm and Ruass screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ruass, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Fabio Capello!
