Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Estefan Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell comes to the cage accompanied by Mims - This is Why I'm Hot. Santiago has chosen DMX- What's my name as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johnny Liddell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Estefan Santiago! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddell throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Liddell looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Liddell throws a shot from downtown. Santiago moves away and avoids it. Liddell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Santiago sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Liddell somewhat. Santiago tries for a takedown but Liddell circles away easily and Liddell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Santiago is on top in guard.
Santiago advances position into side control! Santiago lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Santiago stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santiago shoots for a double leg takedown but Liddell sprawls well. He's pushed Santiago's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Santiago shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Liddell as he avoids it easily. Johnny Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Estefan Santiago. Santiago doesn't succeed with the takedown and Liddell counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Santiago is trying to drag Liddell to the mat but Liddell just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Santiago is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Liddell gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Santiago wants a takedown.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Santiago. Santiago shoots in but no luck this time. Estefan Santiago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Santiago. Liddell stuffs the takedown attempt from Santiago. Santiago gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell fails in his attempt to clinch. Santiago shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Liddell sprawls well. Liddell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Santiago gets slowly back to his feet. Liddell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Santiago swats him away and circles back towards the center. Santiago swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Santiago shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Liddell but Liddell pushes him off and we're back to square one. Santiago looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Liddell is fending him off so far but Santiago persists. Nope, Liddell circles away and we're back to standing. Liddell bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Santiago's head. Santiago drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Liddell is trying to get back to his feet. Santiago trying to control the position but Liddell is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Johnny Liddell will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Santiago has a takedown stuffed. Liddell tries for a takedown but Santiago circles away easily and Santiago counters with a nice double leg into side control. Liddell won't be happy with that. Liddell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santiago on the ground. Santiago in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Liddell is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
