Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Crumpton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yanker Funker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funker fails to land the takedown.

Crumpton drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Crumpton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Crumpton is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Funker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Crumpton works over Funker with some ground and pound from guard.
Crumpton trying to control but Funker is working from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Funker looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Crumpton puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Crumpton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Crumpton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Funker is looking to get back to is feet but Crumpton passes into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Crumpton lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Crumpton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Funker tries to lock up and control but Crumpton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Crumpton shoots in and bounces Funker off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Crumpton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Funker, up you get!
Funker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Crumpton swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Crumpton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Funker won't be happy with that.
Crumpton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Funker tries to bench press Crumpton off him but Crumpton keeps the position.
Crumpton gets to mount! Funker was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Funker is wriggling around trying to escape.
Crumpton pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Crumpton avoids the attempt from Funker to control.
Funker swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
BOOM! Crumpton connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Crumpton clinches up against the cage.
Crumpton digs a right hand into Funker's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Funker's gas tank.
Crumpton goes for a takedown in the clinch but Funker prevents it.
Funker fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Crumpton has Funker pressed against the cage, preventing Funker from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Crumpton has picked Funker up - he's going for a ride! Crumpton dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Crumpton working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Crumpton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Funker trying to get back to full guard but Crumpton takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Funker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Funker is desperately trying to improve his position but Crumpton has a good base and remains in mount.
Crumpton tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Funker tries to lock up and control but Crumpton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Yanker Funker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
