Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rubens Maciel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Harris has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rubens Maciel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Harris! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris lands a head shot.
It looks like Rubens Maciel has been cut. A decent looking cross lands there for Harris. Harris with a jab. Harris is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Harris misses with a hook. Oh, that's a big right hand from Harris and Maciel goes tumbling to the canvas! Harris follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Maciel is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harris stands up from half guard. Oh Maciel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Harris stuffs the takedown. Maciel seems to have got his legs back now. Harris is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Maciel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Harris stops Maciel from passing to mount. Harris is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Harris is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Maciel is trying to get an arm triangle but Harris is defending well. Harris wants to get back to his feet. Maciel works to advance to full mount. Harris defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Harris is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maciel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Harris manages to avoid the submission attempt. Maciel tries for a kimura but Harris is defending well. Maciel is breathing heavily. Harris is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Maciel has just dragged him back down to the mat. Maciel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Harris avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Maciel. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Harris is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Maciel is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maciel is trying to get an arm triangle but Harris is defending well. Harris is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harris takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Harris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maciel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Maciel scoring with punches and elbows. Harris is trying to buck Maciel off. Maciel lands some shots froms side control. Maciel is trying to get an arm triangle but Harris is defending well. Harris is trying to buck Maciel off. Maciel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maciel is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Harris is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Harris bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Maciel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Harris but Harris pushes him off and we're back to square one. Harris lands a jab to the head.
Harris tests Maciel's chin there with a solid looking shot. Maciel shoots in and drives through. Harris sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rubens Maciel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Harris scores with a decent looking hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Maciel shoots in looking for a takedown. Harris tries to sprawl out of it but Maciel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Maciel gets a takedown into half guard. Harris pushes Maciel off looking to stand but Maciel dives back in and keeps control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Maciel has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Harris defend it? Maciel steps over the head and cranks it - Harris is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Maciel!
