Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mickey Oneill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Smoot! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oneill moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Smoot avoids a punch combination nicely.
Oneill throws a right and a left that Smoot avoids nicely. Smoot misses with a double jab
and Oneill connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Oneill stalks Smoot and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Smoot's face. Smoot staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Fred Smoot has been cut. Oneill throws a combination that misses and Smoot counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Mickey Oneill has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Oneill looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Oneill lands with a straight right. Smoot didn't see that one coming. Good leg kick by Smoot there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Oneill throws a combination that misses and Smoot counters with a head kick that drops Oneill!
Oneill is rocked! Oneill keeping moving, preventing Smoot from controlling successfully. Oh Oneill is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Smoot is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Oneill seems to have got his legs back now. Oneill working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Smoot has passed into half guard!
That's one minute gone in the round. Smoot is looking to take a break and control but Oneill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smoot wants to pass to mount but Oneill is defending the position. Oneill avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Smoot. Oneill keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Oneill pushes Smoot off looking to stand but Smoot dives back in and keeps control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Oneill misses with a double jab
and Smoot counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mickey Oneill is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Smoot gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Oneill. Oneill misses with a jab, cross combination.
Oneill throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smoot lands with a slapping head kick. Mickey Oneill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oneill misses with a wild combination.

and Smoot counters with a low kick, right behind Oneill 's knee. Smoot circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Oneill drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Smoot follows Oneill to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
