The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poloski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Poloski.
Poloski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Emelianenko to counter with a crisp jab.
Emelianenko scores with a one two! Poloski had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Poloski is breathing heavily.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Emelianenko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Let's hope that Emelianenko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Poloski seems to have got his legs back now.

Poloski's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Emelianenko is working the ground and pound. Can Poloski escape?
Emelianenko is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Poloski has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Emelianenko throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Poloski!
