Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian Sproles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Strummer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sproles comes to the cage accompanied by Drones. Joe Strummer has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Sproles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Strummer! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Strummer or perhaps it was just good defense by Sproles which made him look bad. Strummer fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Strummer has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Strummer there as he acknowledges the shot. Strummer fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Brian Sproles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Strummer. Strummer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sproles swivels and escapes. Sproles lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sproles. Nice takedown defense from Sproles. No joy for Strummer on that attempt. Strummer shoots in for a double leg but Sproles sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Sproles feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Strummer sprawling to the canvas! Strummer rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Sproles finish him?!
Strummer is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sproles throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Strummer is still on wobbly legs! Can Sproles finish him? Strummer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sproles as he jumps to the side. Strummer looks gassed! Strummer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sproles as he avoids it easily. Strummer seems to have recovered his senses. Strummer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sproles lands a big uppercut and Strummer crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Strummer looks OK. Strummer is not content to let Sproles control the position. Strummer actively working from the bottom here. Sproles is keen to just control but Strummer is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strummer looking for submissions off his back. Strummer is trying to control but can't.
Sproles prevents Strummer from improving his position. Sproles wants to control but Strummer is keeping him busy. Strummer works his way to full guard. Good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Strummer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nice jab there from Sproles. Strummer shoots in for a takedown but Sproles shows good takedown defense. Strummer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sproles's waist but Sproles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Strummer off to one side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sproles lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Strummer. Sproles fails to land with a series of punches.

Strummer on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Sproles throws a nice looking combination but Strummer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Strummer is trying desperately to land a takedown but Sproles is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Strummer. Sproles's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Sproles duly obliges. Strummer looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Strummer has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Strummer fails with the takedown. Strummer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sproles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Strummer on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Strummer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sproles is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Strummer decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sproles to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Strummer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Strummer is keen to just control but Sproles is a slippery customer. Sproles is looking to improve his position.
Sproles makes his way to full guard, as Strummer worked for a kimura.
Strummer wants to pass the guard but Sproles is keeping the position. Sproles is trying to control the position but Strummer postures up. Strummer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sproles controlling Strummer's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Strummer wants to stand and escape but instead Sproles has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Sproles might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Strummer keeping busy on the bottom but Sproles has passed one foot through into half guard.
Strummer wants to improve his position but Sproles is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sproles wants to pass the guard but Strummer is defending well. Strummer is refusing to be controlled, as Sproles sits in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Sproles is winning the standup battle so far. Strummer fails to land the takedown. Good standup being displayed there by Sproles as he connects with a hook. Brian Sproles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Strummer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sproles as he jumps to the side. Strummer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Brian Sproles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Strummer. Sproles lands with a nice combination. Strummer backs away looking to recover. Strummer fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Strummer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A decent looking cross lands there for Sproles. Strummer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sproles as he avoids it easily. Strummer avoids a punch combination nicely.

Strummer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strummer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sproles's waist but Sproles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Strummer off to one side. Strummer fails to land the takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Strummer shoots in looking for a takedown. Sproles tries to sprawl out of it but Strummer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sproles manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Some wild striking there from Sproles.
Brian Sproles is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Strummer fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Danga de danga de dang - Sproles scores with a four punch combination! Sproles keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Sproles works over Strummer's head and body with a nice combination. Strummer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Strummer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sproles's head. Strummer wants to take a breather but Sproles is having none of it. Strummer is trying to work for a kimura but Sproles is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sproles is not content to let Strummer control the position. Strummer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sproles defends it well. Sproles trying to control but Strummer postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Strummer gets the takedown into side control. Strummer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Strummer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sproles is looking to reverse the position. Strummer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Strummer is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Strummer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sproles, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Strummer looks up at the clock and then as Sproles takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Strummer smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Strummer has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Sproles is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Strummer yanks on the arm and Sproles is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Strummer.
