Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glen Quagmire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wyatt Earp! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quagmire swats away the attempt to clinch by Earp. Earp pushes Quagmire up against the cage in a clinch. Quagmire manages to break the clinch.
Quagmire darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Quagmire is thwarting Earp's attempts to control the position. Quagmire throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Quagmire is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Earp has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Quagmire is working away from the top position though. Quagmire wants to take a breather but Earp is having none of it. Quagmire perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Quagmire is thwarting Earp's attempts to control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Earp tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Earp shoots in for a double leg but Quagmire sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Quagmire looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Earp tries to get to full guard but Quagmire has control of the leg. Earp is trying to maintain the position but Quagmire is very close to passing his half guard. Earp is trying to get back to full guard. Quagmire is nestled in close to Earp, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Quagmire wants to lay and pray for a moment but Earp keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Quagmire wants to work for an arm triangle but Earp is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Quagmire stops Earp from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quagmire trying to control from half guard but Earp is working away. Earp is trying to maintain the position but Quagmire is very close to passing his half guard. Quagmire seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Earp is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Glen Quagmire!
