The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ranger fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kiliff closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kiliff lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kiliff trying to control from Ranger's half guard. Ranger has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Ranger looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kiliff sitting in guard here, content to control. Ranger is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ranger is working hard here to advance position. Ranger keeping moving, preventing Kiliff from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ranger shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ranger showed some decent athleticism there. Ranger is working for a kimura but Kiliff is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ranger missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kiliff actively working from the bottom here. Ranger thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ranger is looking to advance position but Kiliff won't allow it. Kiliff moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiliff tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kiliff is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kiliff keeping full guard, as Ranger tries to pass.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No joy there for Kiliff, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kiliff attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Kiliff moves into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ranger jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kiliff walks away with a smile on his face. Ranger gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Kiliff scores a takedown into full mount! Ranger can't escape the position.
Kiliff wants to control but instead Ranger manages to regain half guard. Ranger is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ranger is breathing heavily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jett Kiliff dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ranger tries for a takedown but Kiliff circles away easily and Kiliff counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Kiliff throwing shots but Ranger is blocking nicely. Ranger trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Kiliff manages to pass to mount!
Ranger bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Ranger looking to pass the guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kiliff keeping moving, preventing Ranger from controlling successfully. Ranger sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kiliff's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ranger with a lazy takedown attempt and Kiliff moves into the clinch. Ranger goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kiliff prevents it.

Kiliff shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Kiliff tries to control but Ranger wriggling away. Ranger is looking to get to half guard.

Ranger is looking to improve his position but Kiliff isn't that keen on the idea. Kiliff looking to control but Ranger is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kiliff is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kiliff looking to control and managing it successfully. Kiliff wants to control the pace but Ranger is squirming around nicely. Kiliff controlling the pace for now. Ranger keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Jett Kiliff showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Kiliff trying to control but Ranger is working from the bottom. Ranger had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kiliff is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ranger Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kiliff's back instead. Kiliff is really stuck here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kiliff breaks Ranger's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Ranger wants to sweep here but Kiliff controlling him for the moment. Kiliff really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ranger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kiliff wants to stand but Ranger has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ranger working for a triangle but Kiliff defends it easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kiliff shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kiliff was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kiliff lands a nice shot to the head. Kiliff trying to control but he's not successful this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kiliff looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiliff trying to control but Ranger is having none of it. Kiliff landing strikes from the mount. Ranger keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. White Ranger has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jett Kiliff is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kiliff wants to control the pace but Ranger is squirming around nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Jett Kiliff comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kiliff has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
