Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Don Draper! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thor Odinson! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Odinson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Draper throws the left hand but Odinson avoids the punch easily. Draper avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Odinson tries to clinch up but Draper circles away and keeps his distance. Draper keeps the fight on the outside. Odinson doesn't manage to clinch there - Draper circles away.
Good shot there by Draper. Draper throws out a loose jab but Odinson uses good head movement to avoid it. Draper swats away the attempt to clinch by Odinson. Odinson tries to clinch but Draper is having none of it. Odinson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Draper. Odinson getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Odinson fails in his attempt to clinch. Odinson fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Odinson tries to keep at a distance but Draper has taken the fight into the clinch. Draper wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Draper looking to slow down the pace here. Odinson looking to slow down the pace here. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Odinson lands a left hand.
Draper breaks from the clinch.
Odinson closes the distance but Draper moves to the side and Draper makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Odinson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Draper holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Draper. Odinson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Draper backwards. Draper pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Draper wants to clinch up but Odinson keeps it at a distance. Odinson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Draper cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Odinson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Odinson darts in trying to clinch and Draper connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Odinson tries to clinch but Draper moves away and Draper makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Odinson tries to clinch but Draper moves away and Odinson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Draper looks to land a right hand but Odinson moved out of range. Decent striking displayed by Draper there.
It looks like Thor Odinson has been cut. Draper misses with a wild body shot. Odinson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Draper counters with a crisp right hand that drops Odinson! Draper lets Odinson back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Odinson is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Odinson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Draper counters into the clinch. Nicely done. A head punch on the inside from Draper fails to land. Draper lands a body shot. Odinson presses Draper against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Both fighters working to control the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Odinson. Draper tries a body shot but Odinson blocks it.
Draper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Draper loads up on a big right hand but Odinson slips the punch. Draper misses with a wild body shot. Odinson on the wrong end of a nice jab. Odinson tries to grapple but his opponent circles enabling Draper to counter with a crisp jab. Odinson lands an overhand right.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Draper thows a body shot but no joy. Odinson misses the shot to the body. Draper moves in looking to clinch but Odinson pushes him off. Thor Odinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Odinson tries to clinch and Draper counters with a two punch combo. Odinson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Draper holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Draper as Odinson tries to tie him up. Odinson lands with a short head shot on the inside. Odinson tries to throw a body punch but Draper avoids it by throwing Odinson back against the cage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Draper lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Odinson. Odinson gets through Draper's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Odinson lands a hook that snaps the head of Draper backwards. Odinson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Odinson closes the distance looking to clinch and Draper counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Draper dominated that round. The cut man is working on Thor Odinson's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Draper circles away from the clinch attempt and Draper counters with a left and a right that stings Odinson. Odinson closes the distance but Draper moves to the side and Draper counters with a right hand to the body. Odinson wants to clinch and Odinson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. This has been an exciting period of action! Draper drives through and clinches with Odinson against the cage.
Draper pushes Odinson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Draper. Odinson scores with a shot to the side of Draper's head. Odinson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Odinson is breathing heavily. Draper scores with a shoulder strike. Draper scores with a shot to the side of Odinson's head. Draper lands a shot to the body. A left hand lands to the body for Draper.
Draper breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. A cross from Draper lands. Draper sends Odinson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Draper is motioning to the referee to let Odinson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Odinson is still on wobbly legs! Can Draper finish him? Draper is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Odinson can do to turn this around? Odinson leaves his chin hanging out and Draper seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Odinson crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Don Draper! Don Draper retains his light heavyweight title!
