Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Kytta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramsey Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kytta comes to the cage accompanied by The Odorants - This Night. Ramsey Wood is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Kytta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ramsey Wood!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood tries to clinch there but Kytta circles away.
Wood throws a sloppy head kick and Kytta moves out of range easily.
Kytta motions for Wood to come forward. Kytta throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Wood stuffs the takedown attempt from Kytta. Kytta gets slowly back to his feet.
Kytta takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wood lands with a hook. Kytta tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


It looks like Mikko Kytta has been cut.
Wood slips a jab and a cross from Kytta.
A left and a right from Wood both land. Nice combination.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kytta displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wood.
Kytta stuffs the takedown attempt from Wood. Wood gets slowly back to his feet.
Wood shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kytta as he jumps to the side.
Mikko Kytta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramsey Wood.

Wood closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wood lands in his opponent's guard.

Wood has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kytta is proving hard to escape from.

Wood trying to control but Kytta is working from the bottom.
Kytta knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wood on the ground.
Wood not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Wood thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kytta is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kytta explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Wood looks gassed!
Kytta throws the kick towards the body but Wood avoids it.
Wood slaps away a takedown attempt from Kytta, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Wood counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Wood looking to sit in guard and control but Kytta gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Wood bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kytta's guard.
Kytta looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Wood puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Wood is working for a submission of some sort.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wood in particular looking to stall.
Wood passes to side control.
Kytta is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You can see the frustration on Kytta's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Wood pushes Kytta up against the cage in a clinch.

Kytta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mikko Kytta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wood pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kytta misses with a head kick.
Kytta throws a head kick that misses.
Kytta tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Wood has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kytta wants to break the clinch but can't.

Wood has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kytta uses from the top position.

Wood gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Wood changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kytta tries to avoid it but Wood manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kytta to the ground. Kytta escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mikko Kytta is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wood is breathing heavily.
Wood shoots for a double leg takedown but Kytta sprawls well. He's pushed Wood's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kytta lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wood's sensitive parts.

and Wood counters with a left and a right that stings Kytta.


Mikko Kytta's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Kytta has managed to clinch.
Wood jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kytta walks away with a smile on his face. Wood gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Wood avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Kytta cracks Wood with a right hand to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kytta throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice takedown defense from Kytta. No joy for Wood on that attempt.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Wood checks a leg kick.
Kytta turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Kytta lands a nice hook to Wood's body. Wood takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kytta avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kytta is trying to break the clinch but Wood has him pressed against the cage.

Kytta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Wood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wood looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Wood looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Kytta's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Wood keeps the fight on the outside.
Kytta throws a lazy head kick
and Wood counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Wood fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Wood or perhaps it was just good defense by Kytta which made him look bad.

Wood jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kytta manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Kytta is not content to let Wood control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
What's Kytta going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

You can see the frustration on Kytta's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kytta is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kytta throws a leg kick but Wood checks it.
Good leg kick by Wood there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kytta throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wood shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mikko Kytta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramsey Wood.
Kytta tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Wood is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kytta's half guard.
Wood not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Kytta is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Kytta is staying active underneath Wood, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Wood frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Wood throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Wood misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Ramsey Wood comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Wood has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
