PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksei Kruschev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott comes to the cage accompanied by Michael Scott's Words of Wisdom. Kruschev has chosen Shout at the Devil by Motley Crue as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott throws a sloppy head kick and Kruschev moves out of range easily.
Scott looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Scott tries for a takedown but Kruschev sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kruschev throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scott.
Scott pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Some wild striking there from Scott.
Kruschev uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Scott.
Michael Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kruschev blocks a head kick by Scott.

and Scott counters with a stiff right hand.

Kruschev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Scott manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kruschev manages to get himself to full guard.

Scott has control of Kruschev's left arm, preventing Kruschev from doing any damage.

Kruschev keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Scott's head.
Scott controls Kruschev momentarily but Kruschev frees himself.

Kruschev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Scott wants to stand but Kruschev is controlling the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Scott doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kruschev counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Scott!
Scott wants to control but Kruschev is having none of it.

BOOM! Kruschev connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Scott is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Scott is controlling an arm, preventing Kruschev from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Kruschev wants to control but Scott has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
Kruschev has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kruschev goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Scott turns into him and now he's in Kruschev's guard.

Kruschev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kruschev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kruschev wants to pass the guard but Scott is defending well.
Scott is in trouble now - Kruschev has advanced to mount!

Kruschev is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Scott is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Scott flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kruschev anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Scott and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kruschev slips an arm under Scott chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kruschev has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kruschev is squeezing on Scott like an anaconda would it's prey. Scott fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
