Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and LJ King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ed Murphy looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming King to the mat! King manages to get full guard. Murphy looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! King looking for a sweep. Not yet King, not yet. King is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Murphy is controlling him. King looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Murphy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. King looking for a sweep. Not yet King, not yet. King wants to get back to his feet but Murphy is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Murphy stopping the sweep attempt from King.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. King closes the distance and lands a one-two. King tries to land a front kick but Murphy steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. King scores with a slapping inside leg kick. King throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Murphy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. King throws a quick inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Both fighters circling a little - King finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. King thuds his shin into the meat of Murphy's side. King misses with a body kick. King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. King dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Murphy. That did some damage! King scores with a spinning back kick! Murphy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Murphy is controlling him. Murphy's corner is telling him to maintain position. King keeping moving, preventing Murphy from controlling successfully. Murphy drops back looking for a leg! King is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and King manages to kick Murphy off! Murphy jumps back into King's guard. King trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murphy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. King is keeping the position for now. King is looking to stand up but Murphy isn't so interested in that idea. Murphy postures up in King's guard and throws a big left but King blocks it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. King moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. King scores with a slapping inside leg kick. No luck for Murphy with that takedown attempt. Murphy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. King sprawls well initially but Murphy persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Murphy in particular looking to stall. Murphy wants to free his trapped foot but King is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy is working hard here to advance position. King pushes Murphy off looking to stand but Murphy dives back in and keeps control.
Murphy stands up and beckons King to join him on the feet. King plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! LJ King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. King throws a half hearted mid kick. A punch combination from King misses. Murphy drives through with a takedown into guard. Murphy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Murphy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Murphy is controlling him. King looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. King wants to stand up but Murphy is controlling him. Murphy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Murphy avoids the head kick by King.
Murphy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
King lands with an uppercut that bounces Murphy off the cage and back into rage. Murphy shoots in but King avoids the takedown attempt easily. Murphy closes this distance looking for a takedown but King circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King throws a combination. Murphy tries to block but a couple of punches get through. King tests Murphy's chin there with a solid looking shot. Murphy takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Left hook, right uppercut from King. King throws a nice looking combination but Murphy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. King lands with a thumping leg kick.

King closes the distance and clinches. Murphy fails to pull guard.
Murphy keeps the fight in the clinch, despite King's efforts to push away. Murphy tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. King smiles and moves away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. King misses with a body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. King throws a nice outside leg kick. Murphy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. King manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Murphy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. King is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murphy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Murphy is pushing down on King's leg trying to pass to half guard. King is fighting to maintain full guard but Murphy has managed to sneak the leg through. King wants to get back to his feet. King is trying to maintain the position but Murphy is very close to passing his half guard. Murphy is working for a kimura but King is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Murphy looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. King is looking to escape. Murphy is pressing down on King's thigh, looking to free his foot. King is holding on for now. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! King pushes Murphy off and gets back to his feet. Murphy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. King did well to prevent Murphy getting side control. Murphy wants to pass to mount but King is defending the position. King tries to get to full guard but Murphy has control of the leg. Murphy is trying to work for a kimura but King is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy wants to control but King is keeping him busy. Murphy tries to pass the half guard into mount. King knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Murphy is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Murphy wants to lay and pray for a moment but King keeps working.

King scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. King lands a head kick. Murphy smiles back at him and beckons him forward. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A solid leg kick lands there for King.

King tries to clinch but Murphy moves out of range. King wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. King scores with a spinning back kick! Murphy fails with a takedown attempt. King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Murphy is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Murphy gets a takedown into half guard. Murphy trying to pass the guard but King defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Murphy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side. Ed Murphy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. King throws a body kick that misses. King turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. King throws a series of strikes that have Murphy backpedaling.
King fails in his attempt to clinch. King pushes Murphy away with a front kick. Murphy shoots in and bounces King off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Murphy won't allow King to get back to his feet. Murphy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Murphy misses with a takedown attempt - King sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. King blocks a head kick by Murphy.

Murphy shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Murphy. That's going to take a lot out of him. King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ed Murphy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Murphy forces his way into half guard. Murphy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and King defends it well. Murphy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. LJ King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! King is looking to escape. King is looking to control Murphy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can King avoid being mounted? King wants to improve his position but Murphy is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Murphy is looking for a kimura here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. King cracks a nice hook into Murphy's ribs. Ed Murphy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Murphy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Murphy is defended easily by King. Murphy takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
And that's the end of the fight! Ed Murphy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Murphy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
