Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aidan Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Walsh might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I Wear My Skin. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Aidan Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lee Shepherd!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shepherd moves into the clinch.
Shepherd avoiding damage as Walsh throws knees to the body.
Shepherd lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Walsh landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Walsh crunches a lovely knee into Shepherd's ribcage.

Shepherd turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Shepherd manages to end up in side control.
Walsh struggling a bit here.
Walsh is looking to regain half guard here but Shepherd keeps moving and retains side control.
Shepherd cracks Walsh with a big right hand but Walsh just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Walsh is trying to control Shepherd's posture but Shepherd avoids it.
Shepherd grinds an elbow into Walsh's temple.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shepherd stands up.

Shepherd moves into range and clinches up with Walsh.
Walsh landing knees to the body.
Shepherd goes for a takedown in the clinch but Walsh prevents it.

Walsh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Walsh swats away the attempt to clinch by Shepherd.
Walsh fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shepherd.
Shepherd looks gassed!
No joy there for Shepherd, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Walsh gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shepherd slowing the pace effectively.
A short right from Walsh on the inside.
Shepherd drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Walsh gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Walsh jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shepherd walks away with a smile on his face. Walsh gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Walsh tries to clinch up but Shepherd circles away and keeps his distance.

Shepherd wants to get back to his feet but Walsh is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Walsh's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Walsh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Shepherd wants to sweep here but Walsh controlling him for the moment.
Walsh makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Shepherd is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walsh is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Walsh lets loose with a powerful body kick. Shepherd will feel that in the morning.
Walsh keeps Shepherd at a distance using the push kick.

Walsh drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shepherd trying to control the position.
Shepherd tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Shepherd is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Shepherd being controlled here, momentarily.
Walsh wants to control from the top but Shepherd keeps moving.

Walsh wants to pass the guard but Shepherd is keeping the position.
Walsh throws a big right hand that misses.
Shepherd trying to keep a closed guard but Walsh is proving a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Shepherd avoids the body shot from Walsh.
Shepherd fails to land with a series of punches.
Shepherd looks to throw the jab but Walsh is out of range.

Walsh rushes Shepherd and presses him up against the cage.

Shepherd pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shepherd gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Walsh counters with a good low kick that Shepherd was not able to check.
Aidan Walsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Shepherd.
Shepherd closes the distance looking to clinch
and Walsh counters with a left and a right that stings Shepherd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aidan Walsh dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Walsh goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Shepherd closes the distance but Walsh moves to the side
and Walsh counters with a nice low kick that buckles Shepherd's knee momentarily.

Walsh moves into the clinch successfully.
Shepherd on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Shepherd is trying to stall.

Shepherd pulls guard.
Shepherd wants to sweep here but Walsh controlling him for the moment.

Shepherd manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walsh manages to get himself to full guard.
Shepherd with a flurry of punches that miss.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Walsh seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Shepherd throws and elbow that misses. Walsh uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Shepherd's guard. Nice move by Walsh!

Good leg kick by Walsh there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Horrible takedown by Shepherd or perhaps it was just good defense by Walsh which made him look bad.

Walsh closes the distance and clinches.

Walsh is fighting off a takedown attempt but Shepherd is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Walsh to the mat. Walsh regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Shepherd is looking to work some ground and pound but Walsh has wrist control.

Shepherd gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Shepherd closes the distance and pushes Walsh back into the cage.
Walsh creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Shepherd's defenses.
Shepherd blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Shepherd is working for takedown but Walsh is calmly controlling the position for now.

Walsh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shepherd looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Shepherd has Walsh up against the cage in a clinch.

Walsh is trying to break free.
Walsh tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shepherd smiles and moves away.

Walsh gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shepherd to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Shepherd throws a strike but Walsh rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Walsh has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Shepherd is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Shepherd's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Walsh decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Lee Shepherd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Walsh scoring well with a low kick there.
Walsh shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shepherd as he jumps to the side.
Shepherd takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Shepherd is looking to clinch but Walsh is avoiding it.
Shepherd avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lee Shepherd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shepherd tries to close the distance and clinch but Walsh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Walsh thuds his shin into the meat of Shepherd's side.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Shepherd wants a takedown but no success here.

Shepherd tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Walsh just stands there and leans against the cage.

and Walsh counters with a three punch combo that has Shepherd backing up. Shepherd nods at Walsh to acknowledge the strikes.

and Walsh counters with a good, hard body kick but Shepherd shrugs it off.

Walsh closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shepherd to the mat! Shepherd manages to get full guard.
Shepherd manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walsh manages to get himself to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Walsh counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Shepherd walks forward, straight into a front kick from Walsh.
Shepherd closes this distance looking for a takedown but Walsh circles away.
Walsh is looking to slow Shepherd down with leg kicks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walsh leaves Shepherd with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Walsh rushes Shepherd and presses him up against the cage.
Walsh is pressed up against the cage. Shepherd has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Walsh down to the mat. Walsh avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Shepherd shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Walsh napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Shepherd with the ground and pound but Walsh regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Shepherd stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Horrible takedown by Shepherd or perhaps it was just good defense by Walsh which made him look bad.
Walsh throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Walsh leaves Shepherd with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Shepherd counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Walsh's guard now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shepherd drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Walsh manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shepherd has Walsh in his guard.

Shepherd pushes Walsh off and gets back to his feet.
Shepherd gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Walsh counters with a big head kick but Shepherd shrugs it off.

Walsh throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shepherd was covering up waiting for the punch and Walsh finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Walsh thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shepherd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aidan Walsh.
I think Walsh has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
