Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Van der Linden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). William Head has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fred Van der Linden!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van der Linden moves out of range as Head strikes.
Head tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Van der Linden paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Head darts in and clinches Van der Linden up against the cage.
Head stops a takedown attempt from Van der Linden.

Van der Linden has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Head is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
William Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Van der Linden.
Head is pressed up against the cage. Van der Linden has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Head down to the mat. Head avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Head scores with a jab to the jaw.
Head lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Van der Linden backs up against the cage.
Head looks to score with a jab to the body but Van der Linden is just out of range.

Head gets the takedown into side control.

Head decides to stand back up.
Head bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Van der Linden's head backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Head counters with a crisp one two that drops Van der Linden! Head thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Van der Linden to his feet! Van der Linden is in big trouble!
Head fails with an attempt to clinch.
Head tries to close the distance and clinch up but Van der Linden swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Van der Linden misses with a two punch combination.

Head throws a right hand that Van der Linden ducks under and follows up with a left that Van der Linden also avoids with ease.

Head drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Head tries for a kimura but Van der Linden is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Head has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Van der Linden can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Van der Linden postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Head is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Van der Linden, into his guard.

Head drops back looking for a leg! Van der Linden is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Van der Linden manages to kick Head off! Head jumps back into Van der Linden's guard.
Van der Linden is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Head escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Van der Linden gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Head tries to clinch but Van der Linden moves out of range.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Head drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Head would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Van der Linden lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Head!
Head wants to hold on but Van der Linden pushes him away.
Van der Linden scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Head?
Head wants to control but Van der Linden is having none of it.

Van der Linden goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Head is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Head decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Van der Linden, up you get!
Head misses with a head kick.
Head shoots for a double leg takedown but Van der Linden sprawls well. He's pushed Head's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Van der Linden takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Van der Linden wriggles free and stands up.

and Head decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Van der Linden's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

William Head overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Head is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Head!
