Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Tomaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, kehn kurobashi! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! kurobashi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Tomaz prevents a takedown attempt there.
kurobashi goes for a takedown attempt but Tomaz pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
kurobashi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tomaz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Tomaz has his hands on kurobashi's head, controlling the position. Tomaz is trying to keep kurobashi in close.

Tomaz seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Tomaz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. He's managed to get a loose triangle. kurobashi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. kurobashi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tomaz has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. kurobashi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Tomaz. kurobashi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tomaz, who protects the arm well.

Tomaz is looking to regain half guard here but kurobashi keeps moving and retains side control. Tomaz takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

kurobashi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Junior Tomaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of kehn kurobashi. kurobashi tries to close the distance and clinch but Tomaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. kurobashi throws a right hand that Tomaz ducks under and follows up with a left that Tomaz also avoids with ease. Tomaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tomaz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts kurobashi as he jumps to the side. kurobashi tries to clinch but fails miserably and Tomaz counters with a nice double leg into side control. kurobashi won't be happy with that. kurobashi can't do much from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Junior Tomaz will probably get the nod. That's time! Tomaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Tomaz tries to pull guard but kurobashi holds him up against the cage and eventually Tomaz drops back down to his feet.
kurobashi is pressed up against the cage. Tomaz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag kurobashi down to the mat. kurobashi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. A nice leg kick lands there from Tomaz. kurobashi is looking to clinch. kurobashi looks to clinch and Tomaz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Junior Tomaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tomaz trying to control but kurobashi is working from the bottom. kurobashi looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tomaz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. kurobashi is looking for a sweep. Tomaz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Still in half guard, Tomaz seems content to control. Tomaz is keen to just control but kurobashi is a slippery customer. kurobashi is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tomaz is controlling the pace.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Junior Tomaz just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Tomaz doesn't succeed with the takedown and kurobashi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by kurobashi. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Tomaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tomaz looking to hit a scissor sweep but kurobashi is one step ahead there. kurobashi wants to control from the top but Tomaz keeps moving.

Tomaz shoots in looking for a takedown. kurobashi tries to sprawl out of it but Tomaz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. kurobashi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. kurobashi misses with a takedown and Tomaz counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tomaz blocks the strikes from kurobashi.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tomaz trying to mount his opponent but kurobashi defends it. Tomaz is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, kurobashi has managed to free his arm - good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Junior Tomaz dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tomaz controlling from mount. kurobashi tries to improve his position but instead Tomaz has taken his back! A bit of a pause in the action here. Tomaz controlling the positon. kurobashi tries to escape but Tomaz has the hooks in and won't let him break free. kurobashi is trying to get back to his feet but Tomaz has full control of the position and if anything, kurobashi has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I would not like to be kurobashi right now.
Tomaz is cranking kurobashi's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for kurobashi! He's tightened the choke and kurobashi is tapping out!
