Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Treetops (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Ritter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frankie Treetops!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Oliver Ritter!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ritter keeps the fight on the outside.

Ritter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Treetops napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Treetops is trying to control Ritter's posture but Ritter avoids it.
Ritter is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Treetops will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Treetops prevents Ritter from improving position.
Treetops wants to get back to his feet.
Treetops tries to improve position but can't.
Ritter controlling from side mount.
Treetops is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ritter has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The referee asks Ritter politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ritter prefers to stall for the moment though.
Treetops sneaks back into half guard.
Treetops pushes Ritter off looking to stand but Ritter dives back in and keeps control.
Treetops keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Treetops wants to control but Ritter is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Treetops throws a head kick but Ritter moves out of range.

Treetops rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ritter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Ritter's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Ritter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Treetops manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ritter has Treetops in his guard.
Treetops with a flurry of punches that miss.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ritter can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ritter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Treetops is one step ahead there.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Treetops trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ritter's guard.
Ritter has his hands on Treetops's head, controlling the position.
Treetops throws a big right hand that misses.
Ritter has control of Treetops's left arm, preventing Treetops from doing any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Treetops throws a looping overhand right but Ritter ducks down to avoid it.

Ritter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Ritter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ritter performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Treetops is trying to stand up here but Ritter is controlling him well.

Despite being in the dominant position, Oliver Ritter just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ritter dodges the punch combination from Treetops.
Treetops tries to bum rush Ritter with a series of wild strikes but Ritter uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oliver Ritter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Treetops fails with the takedown

so Ritter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ritter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Treetops is keeping the position for now.
Ritter stops Treetops from standing up.
Ritter passes into half guard.
Ritter moves into full mount! Treetops won't be happy about that!
Treetops is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ritter thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Ritter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ritter looking to secure an arm triangle but Treetops defends it well.
Treetops tries to lock up and control but Ritter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Treetops wants to get back to his feet.
Ritter content just to control the position here.
Treetops is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Ritter has taken his back.
Treetops controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Ritter is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
What can Treetops do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
You can see the frustration on Treetops's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Treetops is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Treetops is trying to get back to his feet but Ritter has full control of the position and if anything, Treetops has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Ritter working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Treetops is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Ritter has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Treetops taps out!
