Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, destruct onator!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hesha Ruhadze!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruhadze fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ruhadze takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
onator scores with a three punch combo!
Ruhadze takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Ruhadze shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. onator defends it nicely.
onator throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ruhadze dodges the punch combination from onator.
Ruhadze misses with a double jab.
onator throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ruhadze counters with a shoot takedown. onator fights it but they end up in guard.
Ruhadze trying to control the position from guard on top but onator is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ruhadze stops onator from standing up.
Ruhadze postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ruhadze stops onator from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ruhadze not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
onator is looking to stand up but Ruhadze isn't so interested in that idea.
Ruhadze content to stall in guard here.
Ruhadze stands and steps away. onator gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
onator lands with a nice combination. Ruhadze backs away looking to recover.
onator lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ruhadze circles away quickly and effectively.
A nice combination there by onator.
onator throws a head kick that misses.
onator will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
onator throws out a powerful jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
onator tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ruhadze paws at him with a jab and circles away.
onator feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
onator would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
onator is breathing heavily.
Ruhadze lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for onator!
onator wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Ruhadze is landing with some decent strikes but onator is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Ruhadze controlling the position easily from mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
onator is bucking up trying to escape but Ruhadze cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Ruhadze working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. onator turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Ruhadze off and cradles onator's limp body as Ruhadze celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Hesha Ruhadze!
