Montello comes to the cage accompanied by Eye of the Tiger. Thompson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lose Yourself. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montello lands with a shot to the body.
Montello slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Tony Montello seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson misses with the combination.
Montello cracks a nice hook into Thompson's ribs.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thompson gets a clinch.
Montello gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Thompson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Montello is aware though and is defending well.
Thompson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Montello's guard.

Thompson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Montello looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Montello looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Montello!
