The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swearingen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thurgood but Thurgood pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Swearingen looks to land a right hand but Thurgood moved out of range.
Swearingen checks a low kick from Thurgood.
Thurgood lands with a cross.
Nice takedown defense from Thurgood. No joy for Swearingen on that attempt.
Decent striking displayed by Thurgood there.
Thurgood throws a hook but Swearingen avoids it easily.
Swearingen takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Swearingen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
It looks like Charlie Swearingen has been cut.
Thurgood swings for the body but Swearingen moves out of range.
Swearingen tries to clinch there but Thurgood circles away.
Thurgood cracks Swearingen with a right hand to the side of the head.
Swearingen moves out of range of the strikes.
A decent looking cross lands there for Thurgood.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thurgood throws a shot from downtown. Swearingen moves away and avoids it.

Thurgood just misses with a punch to the body.
Gabe Thurgood is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Good exchange - Swearingen coming out on top.
It looks like Gabe Thurgood has been cut.
Gabe Thurgood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Swearingen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thurgood as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlie Swearingen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Thurgood bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Swearingen is rocked!
Swearingen walks straight into a right hand from Thurgood - that's dropped him! Thurgood jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Swearingen from any more punishment! Swearingen complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
