Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makuku Kukula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Power! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Makuku Kukula! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kukula wants to clinch. Kukula steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Power. Kukula tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Power paws at him with a jab and circles away. Power changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kukula looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kukula can't do much from the bottom here. A lull in the action here. Kukula is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kukula regains half guard. Kukula tries to roll over but Power keeps him under control. Kukula has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Power is working away from the top position though. Power lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kukula is trying to stand back up but Power is controlling him

Power controlling the action here. Power throwing shots but Kukula is blocking nicely. Kukula gets back to full guard.
Power trying to control the position from guard on top but Kukula is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Power slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Power has knee on belly momentarily but Kukula bucks him off and regains half guard. Power thows a huge punch but Kukula dodges it nicely.
Power postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kukula to stand up. Power looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kukula! Power could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Power is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Power sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Power is breathing heavily. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Power has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Power avoids the attempt from Kukula to control. Power punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Power looking to control but Kukula is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kukula sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Power escapes and gets back to his feet. Kukula looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Max Power seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Power shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kukula manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Kukula had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Power is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kukula Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Power's back instead. Kukula tightening his grip on Power, looking for the choke. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Power dominated that round. That's time! Power's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Power takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kukula gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Power to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kukula trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Kukula looking to control.
Power stands and steps away. Kukula gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Power drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Power working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Power seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Max Power overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Power pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kukula is keeping the position for now. Kukula wants to stand but Power is controlling the position. Power stands up over Kukula, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Kukula looking for a sweep. Not yet Kukula, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Power lands a couple of digs. Kukula is trying to keep Power in close.
Power stays in close to Kukula's body and controls the position. Power landing with the ground and pound.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kukula scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Power is trying to get back to full guard. Kukula seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Power does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kukula tries to pass to full mount but Power defends it. Kukula is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Kukula seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kukula wants to control but Power is keeping him busy. Power gets full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Power pulls Kukula in to control the position. Kukula wants to stand and escape but instead Power has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Power works over Kukula with some ground and pound from guard. Kukula is trying to control the position but Power postures up. Kukula can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Power controls the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Power dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Kukula shoots and misses and Power counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kukula's guard now. Power showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Power seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kukula for as long as he can get away with. Kukula wants to sweep here but Power controlling him for the moment. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kukula is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Power might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Power postures up and lands a big shot to Kukula's brow. Kukula looking to control.
Kukula has momentary wrist control but Power slips an elbow through the middle. Power postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kukula can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Power controls the pace. Kukula avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kukula throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Power seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Power passes easily into side control. Nice work. Kukula is not content to let Power control the position. Power taking a breather here.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Max Power just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Power looks to clinch and Kukula counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Power! Kukula looking to control but Power is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kukula punishing his opponent with strikes. Power tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kukula tries to control but Power wriggling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kukula pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Kukula prevents Power from getting the reversal. Power tries to hold on but Kukula pushes him away. Power manages to regain half guard. Good work. Kukula seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Max Power is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Power is holding on to half guard well. Makuku Kukula has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Power wants to control but Kukula is keeping busy.
And that's the end of the fight! Max Power showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Power, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
