The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Rick scoring well with a low kick there.
De Rick will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
De Rick wants to clinch.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
De Rick pushes Payn away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Payn gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Payn swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and De Rick is now in Payn's guard. A big mistake from Payn there, giving up the dominant position!

Payn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. De Rick is aware though and is defending well.

Payn throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
De Rick wants to control from the top but Payn keeps moving.
Payn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. De Rick is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Payn.

Arne De Rick is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
De Rick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Payn tries to score a power double leg takedown but De Rick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Payn somewhat.
De Rick tries to bum rush Payn with a series of wild strikes but Payn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

De Rick misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
De Rick tries a head kick but it misses.
Payn fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Payn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as De Rick sprawls well. De Rick wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Payn gets slowly back to his feet.
Arne De Rick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Payn.

Payn is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. De Rick is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. De Rick flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Payn anticipates the leg and manages to get behind De Rick and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Payn slips an arm under De Rick chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Payn has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Payn is squeezing on De Rick like an anaconda would it's prey. De Rick fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
