Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roy Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Perry Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter comes to the cage accompanied by The Used - The Taste Of Ink. Roy Hunter had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Perry Cox!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter circles away from the clinch attempt.

Cox clinches up with Hunter and pushes him back against the cage.
Hunter is working for takedown but Cox is calmly controlling the position for now.
Hunter goes for a takedown in the clinch but Cox prevents it.

Cox gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cox pushes down on Hunter's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cox thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cox uses his free foot to push down on Hunter's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hunter.
Cox sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Cox scores with a couple of good head shots there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hunter is working to get back to half guard.
Hunter is working hard here to advance position.
Cox controlling from the full mount.
Cox lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cox is working for a guillotine from mount but Hunter frees his head quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perry Cox dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hunter shoots for a takedown but Cox saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cox swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cox looks to land a body kick but Hunter moved away.

Hunter shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cox manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cox can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hunter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hunter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hunter drops back looking for a leg! Cox is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cox manages to kick Hunter off! Hunter jumps back into Cox's guard.
Cox seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cox is trying to get back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cox trying to hold on to Hunter's head to control him but Hunter postures up.

Cox is defending against the submission attempts here by Hunter.
Cox wants to control but Hunter is keeping busy.

Hunter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Cox is positioning himself well to prevent Hunter advancing to mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cox doesn't manage to clinch there - Hunter circles away.

Horrible takedown by Hunter or perhaps it was just good defense by Cox which made him look bad.
Cox throws a head kick but Hunter moves out of range.

Hunter feints and as Cox raises his hands in defense, Hunter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hunter tries to free his leg and advance position but Cox is retaining full guard.
Cox wants to sweep here but Hunter controlling him for the moment.
Hunter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Hunter passes Cox's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Cox is looking to improve his position.

Hunter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cox sees it coming and defends easily.

Hunter is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Cox has managed to free his arm - good work.

Cox is trying to stand up here but Hunter is controlling him well.

Cox shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Cox throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cox swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Cox shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hunter napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Hunter is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cox's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Cox lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Cox is trying to control. Hunter wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hunter is pressing down on Cox's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hunter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cox can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cox keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hunter's head.
Hunter wants to sweep here but Cox controlling him for the moment.
Cox works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Cox stands up and beckons Hunter to join him on the feet.
Hunter avoids the head kick by Cox.

Cox gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Cox postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hunter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cox's guard.
Cox is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Perry Cox comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cox has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
