PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Landon Daloski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daloski comes to the cage accompanied by Chip Diddy Chip. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Landon Daloski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sammy Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sosa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Daloski sprawls well. Daloski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sosa gets slowly back to his feet.

so Sosa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sosa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sosa wants to pass the guard but Daloski is keeping the position.
Sosa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sosa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Daloski is looking to improve his position but Sosa isn't that keen on the idea.
Sosa wants to take Daloski's back but he can't do it this time.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sosa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sosa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Daloski circles away quickly and effectively.

so Sosa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Daloski thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Daloski is looking to stand up but Sosa isn't so interested in that idea.
Daloski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sosa content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Sosa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daloski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Daloski might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Daloski doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Sosa counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sosa.
Sosa wants to control from the top but Daloski keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sammy Sosa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Daloski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Sosa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Daloski defends it well.
Sosa is nestled in close to Daloski, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Daloski pushes Sosa off but Sosa dives into side control.

Sosa tries to circle away but Daloski has him pinned against the cage.
Sosa prevents the takedown attempt.
Daloski wants to stall.

Sosa has Daloski pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sosa pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Daloski tumbling to the mat - Sosa dives into Daloski's guard.
Sosa wanted to stand there but Daloski had control of the position.

Daloski has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sosa is working away from the top position though.
Sosa passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Daloski!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Sosa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

I've got Sosa winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
