Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leo Milani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Pepinhos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pepinhos has chosen Macaco - Hacen Falta Dos as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leo Milani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marco Pepinhos!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pepinhos wants to clinch up but Milani keeps it at a distance.
Milani dives in and grabs Pepinhos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pepinhos pushes down on Milani's head and hops out.
Milani shoots for a double leg takedown but Pepinhos sprawls well. He's pushed Milani's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Milani fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leo Milani. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Milani fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pepinhos avoids it really well and circles away.

Pepinhos shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Milani's guard.

Milani is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Pepinhos is in close to Milani's body, working some short punches and elbows.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pepinhos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Pepinhos thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Milani will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Milani knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pepinhos on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Pepinhos counters with a shoot takedown. Milani fights it but they end up in guard.
Pepinhos controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Milani is striking but Pepinhos is not phased and passes to half guard.
Pepinhos frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Milani is breathing heavily.
Pepinhos lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Pepinhos breaks from Milani's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Pepinhos is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Milani can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Pepinhos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Milani is squirming around, avoiding Pepinhos's attempts to control the action.

Pepinhos working for a guillotine from mount but Milani is in no mood to give up.
Milani swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Pepinhos has hold of Milani's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Milani manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pepinhos thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Pepinhos has control of Milani's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Milani regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Milani is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pepinhos trying to control but Milani is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pepinhos scoring with strikes but Milani is staying in there.
Milani flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marco Pepinhos dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Milani misses with a takedown
and Pepinhos counters with a thumping low kick.
Milani gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pepinhos counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Milani shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Pepinhos counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leo Milani. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pepinhos passes Milani's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Pepinhos looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pepinhos is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pepinhos works his way into side control.
Milani on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Milani tries to get out of the position.

Pepinhos has hold of Milani's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Milani tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Pepinhos cranks the arm and Milani screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Milani, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
