The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wood sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A shot to de liver by Wood. Beautiful body shot.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Wood!
Penn drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Penn tries to free his leg and advance position but Wood is retaining full guard.
Wood working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Penn.
Wood manages to escape and get back to his feet.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Wood.
Penn throws a head kick that misses.
Wood throws a push kick but Penn slaps the foot to one side.
Wood throws a head kick but Penn moves out of range.
Penn blocks a head kick by Wood.
Wood pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Penn walks into a jab.
Penn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Penn dodges the punch combination from Wood.
Wood paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wood dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Penn looks gassed!
Penn shoots in and drives through. Wood sprawls well.
Kevin Wood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penn.

Wood connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Penn's hands.

It looks like BJ Penn has been cut.
Wood drops Penn with a huge uppercut! Penn drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Wood is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
