Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between D J Rich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Perbichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, D J Rich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Perbichi! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perbichi avoids a kick to the body.
Rich shoots for a double leg takedown but Perbichi sprawls well. He's pushed Rich's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rich clinches up against the cage. Rich tries to score a body lock takedown but Perbichi shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Perbichi prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for D J Rich. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rich turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rich manages to end up in side control. Rich swings around for an armbar but Perbichi sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rich's guard. Rich is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Perbichi is aware though and is defending well. Rich is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rich is looking for a triangle but Perbichi pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rich has his foot on Perbichi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Perbichi works his way back into a safe position though. Perbichi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Perbichi trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Rich manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Rich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perbichi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rich has gone for a leg lock! Perbichi slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rich's guard. Perbichi wanted to stand there but Rich had control of the position. Rich is looking for a triangle here but Perbichi uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rich is looking for a sweep. Perbichi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rich. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rich manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Rich is thwarting Perbichi's attempts to control the position. Rich trying to advance position but Perbichi counters by regaining guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rich trying to control but Perbichi is working from the bottom. Rich stays in close to Perbichi's body and controls the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rich stopping the sweep attempt from Perbichi. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perbichi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rich. Rich slips under a jab from Perbichi. Perbichi misses with a straight right. Rich throws a quick inside leg kick. Rich throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Perbichi was covering up waiting for the punch and Rich finishes the takedown easily into guard. Rich postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rich slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Rich slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Rich tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Rich is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Perbichi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Perbichi wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Perbichi prevents Rich from improving position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perbichi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
D J Rich dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Rich tries to score a power double leg takedown but Perbichi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rich somewhat. Perbichi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rich has time to react. Rich shoots in for a takedown but Perbichi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Perbichi connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. A swing and a miss from Rich. Perbichi misses with a straight right. Rich is looking to clinch. A slow jab from Perbichi misses its intended target. Perbichi thows a left - swing and a miss! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rich fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for D J Rich. Rich closes this distance looking for a takedown but Perbichi circles away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rich is looking to clinch but Perbichi is avoiding it.

Perbichi lands a jab to the nose. Perbichi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rich throws a head kick that misses. Perbichi scores with a nice head shot. Rich changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perbichi tries to avoid it but Rich manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perbichi to the ground. Perbichi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Thiago Perbichi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perbichi throws an overhand right that lands on Rich's shoulder, as Rich tries to avoid the shot. Perbichi jabs Rich right on the nose. Rich blinks but takes it well. Perbichi misses with an uppercut. Rich saw that one coming. Perbichi might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Perbichi scores with a hook. Rich ducks under a wild hook from Perbichi. Perbichi lands a nice shot that snaps Rich's head back.

Perbichi tries to keep at a distance but Rich has taken the fight into the clinch. Rich has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Perbichi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rich has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Perbichi avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Perbichi tries to break free but Rich pushes him back against the cage. Rich has Perbichi pressed against the cage, preventing Perbichi from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Rich ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rich no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Perbichi wants to stand but Rich is controlling his posture from full guard. Perbichi wants to stand and escape but instead Rich has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Rich tries to free his leg and advance position but Perbichi is retaining full guard. Rich won't allow Perbichi to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rich looking to pass the guard. Thiago Perbichi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Perbichi thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Thiago Perbichi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rich has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
