Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuo Taoka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kazuo Taoka!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Taoka misses the target.
A big left from Taoka misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Griffin.
Griffin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nice sprawl there from Taoka as Griffin shoots in.

Griffin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Taoka has picked Griffin up and slammed him! Griffin can't keep hold of the triangle and Taoka manages to pass to side control!

Taoka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Griffin keeps working.
Taoka is trying to get an arm triangle but Griffin is defending well.
Griffin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Taoka decides to stand back up. Taoka steps back and let's Griffin get back to his feet.
Griffin dives in and grabs Taoka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Taoka pushes down on Griffin's head and hops out.
Taoka is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Griffin.
Taoka uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Griffin has time to react.
Griffin is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Griffin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Taoka tries to avoid it but Griffin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Taoka to the ground. Taoka escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Taoka is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Kazuo Taoka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Griffin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Taoka sizes up Griffin with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Taoka closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Griffin! Taoka dives in looking to finish! Griffin is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
