Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Veechi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Lewis could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Vinny Veechi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vinny Veechi!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Veechi throws a sloppy body shot
and Lewis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Veechi's guard.
Veechi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Veechi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lewis pushes down on Veechi's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lewis is trying to work for a kimura but Veechi is defending well.

Veechi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lewis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Veechi pulls Lewis in close to his closed guard and prevents Lewis from doing any damage or advancing position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lewis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lewis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lewis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Veechi is looking for a triangle but Lewis pushes his legs off easily.
Veechi looks gassed!
Veechi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lewis defends well.
Veechi controls Lewis momentarily but Lewis frees himself.
Lewis tries to stand but Veechi is controlling from the bottom.
Veechi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lewis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Veechi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lewis's back instead.
Lewis is trying to break free.

Lewis breaks Veechi's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Lewis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Veechi dives on top into guard.
Lewis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Veechi defends well.
Lewis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lewis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Lewis has a takedown stuffed.

Veechi lands a nice hook to Lewis's body. Lewis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Lewis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lewis shoots in but Veechi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Veechi connects with a right hand. Lewis shakes it off.

Good leg kick by Veechi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Veechi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lewis's hands.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lewis slips a straight right by Veechi.
Veechi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A slow jab from Veechi misses its intended target.
Nice takedown defense from Veechi. No joy for Lewis on that attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mark Lewis will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lewis throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Veechi escapes and throws Lewis's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Veechi in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Lewis is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
